A Shower of Precious Blessings
By Terchen Chokgyur Dechen Zhikpo Lingpa
A Shower of Precious Blessings (Jinlap Norbu Drucha) is a collection of thirty-five prayers by the Great Tertön Chokgyur Dechen Zhikpo Lingpa, composed at the request of various disciples on different occasions. The series includes poetic prayers in verse, mainly directed towards Mahaguru Padmasambhava, seeking his blessings and guidance, while others call upon the Buddha and bodhisattvas, the Three Roots, and lineage-holders. The original collection mostly featured untitled prayers. Titles have been added by the translators based on information in the colophons of each prayer. This collection offers profound insight into the student-teacher relationship of one of the 19th century’s greatest Tibetan treasure revealers, presenting deeply devotional works that inspire practitioners on the Buddhist path.
