Chokgyur Lingpa revealed this Gesar practice on the 25th day of the Monkey month in the Fire Rabbit year (1867) following a pure vision. The Second Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche, Könchok Gyurme Tenpé Gyaltsen (1871–1939), later compiled and arranged the treasure text as a sadhana.
